David Ugochukwu Nnaji
Born in July 1985 in Lagos State, Nigeria, David Nnaji discovered his passion for performance at an early age. He pursued his academic interests at the University of Lagos, where he studied History and Strategic Studies, a foundation that would later inform his nuanced approach to character development and storytelling.
David launched his professional acting career in 2001, at the age of 16, stepping onto the vibrant stages of Nollywood during a transformative period for the industry. His natural talent and dedication quickly set him apart from his peers.
His breakout moment came with the television series Dear Mother, where he portrayed Ifeanyi Phillips for over a decade. This long-running role endeared him to millions of Nigerian households and established him as one of the most recognizable faces on African television.
In 2012, David expanded his creative vision by founding DUN Entertainment, a production company committed to telling authentic African stories with international production values. Under his leadership, the company has produced over 50 films and contributed to more than 6,000 television episodes.
Today, David stands as a true industry veteran: actor, producer, director, and entrepreneur. In 2025, he founded DUN Creative Hub, an independent Lagos-based training academy and production facility for the next generation of Nigerian talent.
